- 2 mm grain size
Thanks to its versatile properties and composition, HP 9 Natural Lime Base Plaster is also ideal as a mortar for laying Hemplith hemp bricks, both indoors and outdoors. Hemp blocks, known for their sustainability and excellent insulating properties, require a mortar that is both environmentally friendly and complements the physical properties of the hemp material.
Advantages of HP 9 as mortar for Hemplith hemp blocks:
- Natural components: HP 9 consists of natural hydraulic lime, limestone and quartz sand as well as a small addition of cellulose, without synthetic binders. These natural ingredients harmonize well with the ecological and sustainable properties of Hemplith hemp blocks.
- Diffusion openness: The high diffusion openness of HP 9 (diffusion resistance coefficient µ = 6) is particularly advantageous for Hemplith hemp blocks, as it enables moisture transfer and thus has a positive effect on the indoor climate, which is important when using natural insulation materials such as hemp.
- Fungus and mold resistance: The resistance of HP 9 to fungal and mold infestation additionally protects the hemp blocks and extends their service life and effectiveness.
- Flexibility in application: HP 9 can be easily processed manually or by machine, is adaptable to different substrates and provides a solid base for laying hemp bricks, which is particularly important in ecologically oriented construction projects.
Processing instructions:
When laying Hemplith hemp blocks with HP 9, the blocks and the substrate should be sufficiently pre-wetted before applying the mortar, similar to other applications, especially in warm weather or on highly absorbent substrates. The recommended plaster thickness is 10-20 mm, depending on the area of application and the specific requirements of the construction. Care should always be taken to finish the plaster after it has set and allow it to dry sufficiently before further plastering or painting.
